AncestralFire turns the open record of humanity into the story of who came before you.
Every family's story is worth telling. Yours included.
You don't need a famous person on your tree. You need somebody to make the people who are already on it feel real.
FamilySearch alone holds 2 billion records. Wikidata has structured facts on 110 million entities. Wikipedia has the historical context for every place, every era, every occupation that ever mattered. YouTube has documentaries, walking tours, reenactments. The records exist. They've existed for years.
The hard part was never finding them. The hard part is understanding what you found — putting it in context, and turning it into something a family will actually read.
That is the AncestralFire job. Take the existing records of a person's family tree and weave them, with the historical context of their actual time and place, into something that makes their ancestors feel real. Not famous. Real. The 1847 cotton-mill weaver who walked out at age 9 to spin bobbins is as worthy of having his story told as any king — and the technology to tell both is the same.
AncestralFire is for anybody who is curious about their family. Not just the subset of users with documented famous ancestors. The customer doesn't want a tree — they want connection. They want their grandmother's grandmother to feel like a person they could imagine meeting.
We built this on a 72,182-ancestor database, 25 generations deep, 1,800 years back. The same engine that found three Kings of England on one line works on every line — including yours, including the one with no famous names at all.
AncestralFire is a curator, not a store. We consume the open record — Wikipedia, Wikidata, FamilySearch, YouTube — and we curate it around your family. We do not try to be the system of record for your family history. We make the systems that already exist meaningful to you.
You pay a subscription. We work for you. No ads, no data sale, no training models on your family's history. The subscription is how we align our interests with yours.
