What history says.
Quentin, his youngest, was a pilot in France in the First World War. He was killed in action on July 14, 1918, at 20, and German soldiers buried him where his plane fell, at Coulonges-Cohan. In 1955 he was reburied beside his oldest brother, Theodore Roosevelt Jr., in Normandy. The National Park Service counts him the only child of a United States president to die in combat.Quentin Roosevelt, National Park Service
Theodore Roosevelt Jr. landed at Utah Beach on June 6, 1944, "the oldest man and the only general to land in the first wave of the invasion", carrying a walking cane. He was awarded the Medal of Honor, and died of a heart attack in Normandy on July 12, 1944, at 56.Theodore Roosevelt Jr., Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library
